Terms & Conditions of Sale

These terms and conditions govern the sale of custom 3D-printed busts and related services by Bustea (“we”, “us”, “our”) to you, the customer (“you”). They form a legally binding agreement between you and Bustea once your order is accepted. If anything here is unclear, please contact us before ordering.

To create a bust you upload between five and ten clear photographs of the subject and choose your size and finish options. Submitting an order and payment is an offer to purchase. Your order is only accepted once we have reviewed your photographs and confirmed we can proceed; at that point a contract is formed between us.

We may decline or cancel an order if the photographs are unsuitable, if we are unable to produce a faithful likeness, or if the request is unlawful or infringes someone else’s rights. Where we decline before work begins, you will receive a full refund.

Prices start from £49 and vary with the size (Small 75mm, Medium 100mm, Large 150mm) and finish you select. Optional finishes and upgrades, such as a priority queue position, are charged in addition and shown clearly before you pay. All prices are in pounds sterling (£).

Payment is taken in full at the time of ordering through our secure checkout provider. We do not store your full card details. Larger or bespoke commissions quoted separately are subject to the price we confirm in writing.

By uploading photographs you confirm that you own them or have permission to use them, and that you have the consent of any identifiable person shown. You grant us the right to use and adapt the images solely to design, produce and quality-check your bust.

A bust is an artistic interpretation of the photographs you provide. The quality of the finished piece depends heavily on the clarity, angles and lighting of the images supplied. We will always aim for a faithful and characterful likeness, but a bust is a handcrafted, sculptural representation rather than an exact replica.

Your commission moves through carefully reviewed stages. Every piece is checked by a person before you see it, and nothing enters 3D production until you have approved it. You review your commission at two key points: first the image study of your bust, and then the 3D model itself.

At each stage you can approve the work or request changes. Once you approve the 3D model, we proceed to printing and finishing, and the design is considered final.

We want you to be happy with your bust, so reviews and alterations are built into the process. Please note that reviews and alterations are limited to a total of three (3) revisions throughout the entire process — this allowance is shared across both review stages (the image study and the 3D model) combined, not three per stage.

Additional revisions beyond these three may be possible but may incur a further charge, which we will agree with you before carrying out the extra work. Requests for changes that go beyond reasonable refinement of the original brief may be treated as a new commission.

Your bust is produced using 3D printing, which builds the piece up in many fine horizontal layers. As a natural result of this process, very subtle horizontal “layer lines” can be visible on the surface of the finished piece, particularly under certain lighting or at close range.

We endeavour to reduce these layer lines as much as possible through our printing settings and finishing work. However, layer lines are an inherent feature of the 3D-printing process rather than a defect, and they are part of the character and charm of a printed bust — they add texture and individuality to the finished piece. The presence of subtle layer lines is therefore not a fault and is not grounds for a refund.

Production begins only after you approve the final 3D model. We will give you an estimated timeframe, but times are indicative and may vary with demand and the complexity of your piece. A priority upgrade, where selected, moves your commission forward in our queue but does not guarantee a fixed delivery date.

We deliver within the United Kingdom to the address you provide at checkout. Please make sure your delivery details are correct, as we cannot be responsible for delays or losses caused by an incorrect or incomplete address.

Because each bust is made to order and personalised to you, your statutory right to cancel custom-made goods is limited once work has begun. You may cancel for a full refund before we accept your order or before design work starts. After that, any refund reflects the stage reached and the work already carried out.

If your item arrives damaged or is not as described, please contact us promptly and we will repair, remake or refund it as appropriate. Subtle layer lines, and the inherent variation of a handmade artistic piece, are not considered faults.

You retain ownership of the photographs you supply. We retain ownership of the 3D models, digital files and sculptural work we create, along with our processes and know-how. You receive the physical finished bust you have paid for; unless we agree otherwise in writing, the underlying digital files remain ours.

We take great care over every commission. To the extent permitted by law, our total liability in connection with an order is limited to the amount you paid for that order. We do not exclude or limit liability where it would be unlawful to do so, including for death or personal injury caused by our negligence or for fraud.

We use the photographs and personal details you provide only to fulfil your order, communicate with you about it, and keep records as required. We do not sell your data. Photographs are handled as part of the commissioning process and retained only as long as reasonably necessary. For full details, please see our Privacy Policy and Cookies Notice.

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and any disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
